VES/VSC had the privilege of welcoming Verona Police Department, along with the department's first K-9 Officer, Drea. One of our critical care specialists, Dr. Josh Smith presented a special veterinary first aid presentation to give officers additional knowledge and training to ensure K-9 Drea stays safe. Officers learned how to care for Drea in the event of a life-threatening situation until she can get to an emergency clinic.
As part of a research study, VES/VSC Oncology is looking for volunteers (5 Labradors and 5 Golden Retrievers, over the age of 7 years) to donate 2 teaspoons of blood. The researchers are developing a blood test to detect cancer in its early stages in dogs, with hope of improving outcomes. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if your Labrador or Golden Retriever is healthy (does not have cancer) and is willing to help in the fight against cancer!
