Additional Specialist in Internal Medicine (FT)
Veterinary Emergency Service / Veterinary Specialty Center (VES/VSC), is a steadily expanding, independently owned Emergency and Specialty hospital group in the Madison, Wisconsin area, looking for an additional internal medicine specialist to join us in the summer of 2017.
As a specialist in internal medicine at VES/VSC, you will have the full support of our eight board certified specialists and 18 ER veterinarians. Our doctors and staff will work side-by-side with you in a collaborative and encouraging manner to ensure the best outcome for our patients. Our specialties include Anesthesia, Critical Care (2), Surgery (2), Internal Medicine (1), Cardiology (1), and Oncology (2). VES/VSC also manages a critical care residency program and rotating internship.
The successful internist will be primarily based out of VES Madison. Our Madison hospital renovation will be completed in 2017 (underway) and an internal medicine suite will be installed, equipped with endoscopy, ultrasound (GE logic S7) and digital x-ray. The internist will be supported at VES Madison by oncology and surgery as well as a 24/7 ER. A multislice CT is housed at VES Middleton, as well as an independent reference laboratory (Marshfield Clinic) that treats all our labs as stat requests. Results integrate into our Impromed medical records system. Most results are available within an hour.

If you join VES/VSC, you will experience weekly critical care rounds, and a bi-weekly informal journal club and M&M. VES/VSC also hosts CE dinner events to our referring veterinarians monthly. You may be called upon to mentor interns, veterinary students during externships, and we encourage/support clinical research. VES/VSC strongly believes in ongoing community involvement and outreach, and regularly supports local charitable events.
Our doctors receive a competitive compensation package, including three health plan levels, disability coverage, PLIT insurance, 401(k) with a charitable employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO) and a generous CE fund. The right candidate would work four days a week, although we would consider part time positions too.
